Larissa gebruikt de corona-tijd om te reflecteren en dat geeft rust. Maar ze zit alles behalve stil…. want naast dat ze voor duurzame merken aan de slag ging kreeg ze ook het idee om haar eigen duurzame platform AMMA op te zetten. En, voor mede-Makers heeft ze een gouden tip!

Waar ben je op dit moment mee bezig?
“Wat een goeie vraag! Op dit moment ben ik bezig met meerdere duurzame projecten. Ik heb net een serie geschoten voor Aladdin en WePlant, beiden  duurzame merken. Zo verkoopt WePlant planten waarvan de opbrengst wordt gedoneerd aan ‘Trees for All’ om nieuwe bomen te planten op aarde. Zelf heb ik een nieuw idee om meer food stillevens te delen rondom het thema Veganisme. En laatst heb ik ook de prachtige ontwerpen gefotografeerd van mijn goede vriendinnetje Mirte, van Studio Mirte. En met die foto stond ze in het Volkskrant Magazine.”

Hoe zie je de toekomst?
“Heel zonnig met veel energie en spannende nieuwe mogelijkheden! Ik kijk ernaar uit om mijn werk voort te kunnen zetten voor duurzame merken. Daarnaast werk ik nog altijd met veel plezier als art advisor en social media director voor ‘De Kunstuitleen & De Galerie Den Haag’. Ik omarm mijn werk daar en zie het als een verlengde van mijn carrière. Het aller enthousiast wordt ik nu van het verder ontwikkelen van AMMA. Ik kan niet wachten om het aan iedereen te laten zien. Het liefst schreeuw ik het nu al van alle daken. Ook vind ik het interessant om te zien hoeveel leegstand er nu in de stad is. Ik hoop dat dit een nieuwe start kan zijn voor meer kleinere ondernemingen. Dat zij nu de kans krijgen om een klein boutique, pop-up store of atelier te openen. Dat missen we echt in Den Haag! Wellicht een Makerting pop-up store?”  

Heb je tips voor mede-Makers?
“Ja, zeker! Een doel is een droom met een deadline. Heb jij verschillende ideetjes in je hoofd, maar weet je niet wat je moet kiezen. Zet het op papier. Kies er eerst eentje om zo je focus te kunnen vinden. Gooi vooral de andere ideeën niet weg. Bewaar ze en open ze op een ander moment. Omring je met mensen die jou inspireren en probeer ook te sparren om zo verder te komen. Het is fijn om naast vrienden of andere makers ook met iemand te kunnen sparren die jou en je werk meer van een helikopter perspectief kan bekijken. Zo waardeer ik mijn gesprekken met Marlou altijd heel erg.”

Ben je op zoek naar hulp (of inspiratie) van andere Makers en wat zoek je dan?
“Eigenlijk wil ik gebruik maken van de mogelijkheid en een oproep doen naar duurzame makers. Ben jij of ken jij een duurzame maker en ben jij op zoek naar een duurzaam platform om jezelf te presenteren? Durf jij de stap te zetten om met ons samen te werken of zin in een inspirerend kennismakingsgesprek? Stuur me dan een persoonlijk berichtje.”

What are you doing right now?
“What a good question! At the moment I am working on several sustainable projects. I just shot a series for Aladdin and WePlant, both sustainable brands. WePlant sells plants, the proceeds of which are donated to ‘Trees for All’ for new trees. I myself have a new idea to share more food still lifes around the theme Veganism. And recently I also photographed the beautiful designs of my good friend Mirte, from Studio Mirte. And with that photo she was in the Volkskrant Magazine. “

The idea arose from our love for a more sustainable world, where our motto is that we select more sustainable items for like minded people. Items is of course a broad concept and that is the intention! One platform where you choose a new pair of handmade summer sandals and a new ceramic vase from an upcoming sustainable artist. AMMA, a platform that will become your new sustainable GO TO webshop. You no longer have to look crazy on the internet and have questions such as: “am I doing this right?”. At AMMA we have already sorted that out for you. Sustainable selected items with a love for art, design, slow fashion and jewelery. ”

What has the corona time brought you?
“A lot of calm. It gave me the opportunity to look inwards and reflect more. Instead of always being everywhere except at home, it was now very different. It took some getting used to, but that went very well. I have been taking an online meditation course from Jan Geurtz since September. That gives me a lot of inner peace. “

“I have been busy and a lot has happened behind the scenes. Since April last year I have been represented by Underpromise Agency. Unfortunately, there were not immediately plenty of assignments because of COVID-19, but that has changed dramatically. In addition, my work in Presented in September at ‘Fresh Eyes Photo Fair’ in Westergas factory by Project 2.0 / Gallery. It is the only photography fair that took place last year (during the pandemic), but also there a lot quieter than usual. I really miss exhibitions , to visit museums and art fairs and also to participate in them yourself. Hopefully this will change soon. “

How do you see the future?
“Very sunny with lots of energy and exciting new possibilities! I look forward to continuing my work for sustainable brands. I also enjoy working as an art advisor and social media director for ‘De Kunstuitleen & De Galerie Den Haag’. “I embrace my work there and see it as an extension of my career. I am very enthusiastic now about the further development of AMMA. I cannot wait to show it to everyone. I prefer to shout it now. all roofs. I also find it interesting to see how much vacancy there is now in the city. I hope that this can be a new start for more smaller companies. That they now have the opportunity to open a small boutique, pop-up store or atelier. We really miss that in The Hague! Perhaps a Makerting pop-up store? “

Do you have any tips for Co-Makers?
“Yes, sure! A goal is a dream with a deadline. Do you have different ideas in your head, but you don’t know what to choose. Put it on paper. Choose one first to find your focus. Do throw the other ideas. Keep them and open them at another time. Surround yourself with people who inspire you and also try to spar in order to progress. It is nice to be able to spar with someone who, in addition to friends or other creators, can view you and your work more from a helicopter perspective.
